See how to become guest author in spice up blogging. The Galaxy Tab lineup of Samsung is being really large – there is the Galaxy Tab 8.9, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, the Galaxy Tab 7.7, the Galaxy Tab, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, and now the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is less expensive than the previous versions and it runs Android 4.0. The price of this tablet is $249.99. Nook Tablets, Kindle Fire, and BlackBerry PlayBook are the real competitors of this product. Let’s find out more about the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

Design
It is much similar to the 7-inch Galaxy Tab. The back of the tablet is a matte grey plastic, and it is pretty comfortable to hold. The ports and buttons have been laid out much like the Galaxy Tab 7.7. On the right side there are power and volume rocker buttons. There are two stereo speakers and the headphone jack on the top. You will find a microSD card slot on the left side.

Display
The 7-inch display with the resolution of 1024 x 600 is fine, but it is not a match for 1280 x 800 Super AMOLED Plus display. The bright screen of Tab 2 has great viewing angles, and it is very responsive. It is prone to fingerprints and glare.

Software
As it runs Android 4.0 you will get pleasant experience of utilizing the OS. It is now much easier to open and close apps, and scrolling has been improved significantly. Also some of the major apps have been improved. The browser zooms and pinches better. The TouchWiz UI skin performs very well. The quick-access menu has been expanded. A little bit of changes can be found in the keyboard.

Applications
Though the tablet experience has been improved with the help of Ice Cream Sandwich, the problem associated with the lack of good Android apps remains the same. Some apps are increasing, but they are very limited. Some of the popular apps include Grand Theft Auto, Evernote, Dropbox, Amazon Kindle, ChatON, AllShare, Game Hub, and Media Hub. The benefit of using Dropbox on Tab 2 is that you will get free Dropbox storage of 50GB for 1 year. Peel is one of the best preinstalled apps. It is a visual TV guide which can even control your home theatre stack.

Cameras
We must admit that the camera of Tab 2 is not so good. There is no autofocus, which means you will get very unfocussed and blurry images when you shoot anything farther than four feet. Even the in-focus shots are noisy and soft. And the video quality is also dark, noisy and poor.

Battery Life and Performance
The Tab 2 includes the 4,000mAh battery. During our test we found it lasted for 2 days with regular use. The Tab has been powered by the 1GHz dual-core TI processor and 1GB of RAM which is sufficient to run any tasks efficiently.

Conclusion
Good things about Samsung Tab 2 7.0 include long battery life, light and thin, runs Android 4.0 and inexpensive. And the bad things include terrible cameras, lack of good tablet apps and poor displays.
